About WineSpread Panic cellars

30 years I moved to Mammoth Lakes to be a ski bum for a bit and somehow stumbled into the wine business. 

I've worked in distribution, fine dining, Sommelier, purchasing, education, consulting and retail. A few years ago assuming caretaking role my 90 year old mother I was bored and decided to give production a go. Somehow my obsession with a certain band  and wine became WineSpread Panic Cellars  

At WineSpread Panic, we specialize in small one barrel lots from single vineyards focused mostly on lesser known grape varieties. In true negociant style we own no vineyards and sometimes have no idea what we may be producing from year to year. We try our best to always purchase fruit from responsibly farmed vineyards and to produce low intervention wines

WineSpread Panic is the brainchild of owner/proprietor Mitch Cahoon with the guidance/mentoring of Winemaker and longtime friend David Scheidt of Mastro Scheidt Wines. David procures and ferments the fruit with Mitch making most of the decisions post ferment; blending, cellaring and bottling.
